Flannery O'Connor

She was "as southern as kudzu and as Catholic as the Pope." This piece ran 50 years after the untimely death of Flannery O'Connor who died at age 39.  Because of time constraints, i used flat colors and "rough" brushes in adobe photoshop to create the portrait and then added numerouse "titles" from her works to create an interesting framing effect. The total illustration took about three hours (way faster than my normal working time).
